My First Digital Scrapbook Page

I have done a lot of reading and learning on how to create digital scrapbooks this week. I started out just wanting to learn enough to teach the boys so that they could use the skill for creating project pages for their schoolwork. But it is a kind of fun hobby, so I have become “hooked”! 🙂

I have an older copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements (version 4) which is a popular tool for digital scrapbookers. But I also have downloaded a trial copy of Scrapbook Max 2.0. I already have the 1.0 version and just never did much with it. Now they have a new version that does a lot more such that I am thinking that I will upgrade. While Adobe PSE may have a lot more flexibility, it’s not as simple to use as Scrapbook Max. And considering that I am still hoping to teach the boys how to do this, I should keep it simple. Besides, I don’t have a lot of time either, so keeping it simple and easy to use is important for me, too.

So anyway, here is my first digiscrap page:

It has a banner across the bottom because I am still using the trial version of the software. I don’t think I am very good at choosing embellishments and layout features, yet anyway. But I suppose with practice, I will get better.

This reading, researching, and learning is why I haven’t blogged much lately. Between doing that and working and keeping up with the boys’ lessons, I haven’t had time for blogging. But I hope to change that and keep up with my blogging more this week.

They also have a facebook page that’s great for ideas and asking questions:

  2. It is a lot of fun and is addictive. I like exporting finished pages to Costco as they will print on 8×8 or 12×12 quality photo paper. I also test printed one of the Scrapbook Max pages banner and all and I was happy with the quality. Have fun! 🙂

I don’t know that I will print out any of my pages as the norm. I decided long ago that I have no need to print out all of my photos and then have them just sit around and collect dust. 😉 I will either make them into digital videos, slideshows, or PDF files to share.
